Business setup wizard

When you create your first business, we open a setup wizard - a modal that walks you through the minimum configuration needed to accept bookings. Progress is saved after every step, so you can click “Finish later” any time and resume the wizard from the dashboard banner.

The wizard only shows for the owner of a business - and only while one of the basics is still missing (profile, first service, recurring availability). Managers and members never see it because they join businesses that are already configured.

Every change you make in the wizard is also available on the regular settings pages - the wizard does not hide anything, it just collects the required fields in one flow.

A stepper at the top of the modal shows the current step, completed steps, and what is still ahead. Numbering is fixed - it does not change with your plan.

StepWhat you do
1. CompanyName, timezone, locale; optionally contact details and B2B invoicing (hidden in collapsible sections).
2. Service basicsName of your first service, type (choices follow your plan - Free shows standard 1:1 types; mobile and group appear when your subscription includes them), duration, short description.
3. Service pricingBilling type (free, pay on site, online payment), amount on paid variants, phone requirement, performers.
4. AvailabilityRecurring weekly hours (quick presets: workdays, weekend, all week) and minimum lead time for bookings.
5. TeamChoose Just me or With a team. The second option opens a shortcut to create a team and send email invitations.
6. CongratulationsShort summary and quick links to the next steps (more services, edit business, Stripe, calendar integration).

The order takes the business to a bookable state before inviting teammates - so anyone you invite lands on a business that already has a working service and schedule.

If you invite team members before you reach the availability step (for example by opening Teams in another tab and returning to the wizard), a person selector appears at the top of that step - so you can decide whose hours you are editing. Each person has their own schedule.

The minimum lead time for guest bookings field prevents guests from booking “right now”. You can change the value later in Business settings.

On the Service pricing step - before you connect Stripe Connect in integrations - you will see a short callout: the Online payment option activates automatically once Stripe Connect is complete. Until then the service stays on free or pay on site and is still bookable.

Every step is saved when you click Next, so your values come back after closing the modal or logging out. Back on the dashboard you will see a “Continue setup” banner with a button that reopens the wizard where you left off.

The wizard does not block the rest of the app - if you need to check something on another page, pick “Finish later”.

On the final step, “Enter the app” closes the wizard and:

  • shows a grid of shortcuts (more services, Stripe, calendar integrations, branding, coupons),
  • stops opening the wizard automatically on subsequent dashboard visits,
  • links you to the relevant settings pages - that is where you add the rest (logo, privacy copy, more services).
